Townhall          Welcome to the Town of Newfield site. Newfield, N. Y. is known for the Covered Bridge. Teddy Roosevelt once spoke from the balcony of a hotel that today is an apartment building. Newfield is a quiet little town, that lies between the city of Ithaca and the city of Elmira. Newfield is about 58.88 square miles in land with a population of about 86.76 people per square mile. In the year 2000, the total population of Newfield was 5,108.
